The snow had been falling gently down the sky. It made the world turned a white scenery, as every surface had been sprinkle with white salt. Once in a while a white rabbit would peep out from the ground for a brief moment before disappearing again. The birds only chipper when sun ray gazed down through the thick layer of clouds. It was cold to walk among these grounds as the snow seep deep among the shoes. It was hard to see a by passing traveling among all these snow.
The Lost Singer had once again been traveling. It was just after the Black Death that been roaming wild and free among the land, it seem the winter had slow its process down making the death not so dreadful to dealt with. The Lost Singer was in her similar states as she traveled from town to town with a lost tune humming gently among her mind. There was only one slightly upside with the Black Death in a slight downhill states, it was that business had started to pick up again. At least, The Lost Singer would state she finally wouldn't need to huddle among some muffle horrible alley with some dead body laying near by as companionship.
"Chime Chimney~ Chime Chimney~"
The Lost Singer sung gently as she crush through the snows with her feet. It was only once in a while she would jumped and leaped a bit as her hand reached up to catch the falling snow. Her glass blue eyes glee with joy as she laughed and spoke to her own self, well to those who were around her would seen it in such manner, yet in the Lost Singer's mind she was simply speaking to a man with leather jacket. The man in leather jacket was waving toward her telling her a long lost joke.
'Teacher, why did the stars would always reborn into new?'
"It was to bring life again, life is a cyclical. If everything is dead, than this world is simply a dead place with no you nor me to meet."
The Lost Singer replied to the question as she giggled and blew a kiss with the motion of her hand. Her eyes twinkle with glee as she took a step forward, little did she pay much attention as she tripped over a stone slumping herself upon the ground face down. It was that moment she gazed up and notice a glee of interest in the far end of the woods. The light jingle sound of bells ringing through the winter day.
The sound of a festive crowds. How odd? There had been little entertainment ever since the broke out of the Black Death, people were not keen on entertaining anymore as they grieve over the death of their love ones. The Lost Singer wondered as she slowly got up upon the snow, her glass blue eyes wondered around as she tried to locate the sounds. She walked and walked among the woods as she gazed right and left. It was only when she finally saw the lantern hung high upon the road that lead her to smile. Bingo.
'Why you always think I am trouble?'
This time the question came from a little boy, he was holding upon the Lost Singer's hand as he swung the hand gently a few times while he skip and hop upon his steps. He held a wide smile upon his face while he let his traditional Gallifrey clothing puffed lightly with each hop.
"Maybe it is because you are too curies for your own, or was it you like to make trouble?"
The Lost Singer replied as she laughed in joy as watching the little boy let go of her hand and ran a bit ahead of her. The little boy turned his head and made a face at her. It was that moment when someone touched the Lost Singer,
"Are you alright, ma'm?"
Next thing the Lost Singer understood was the little boy was no where to be found anymore. She wondered where that little boy went, was he invented from her mind? However, she couldn't convince herself that little boy was invented, instead she felt she knew of this little one for a very long time.
"Oh... I am fine. Does this path head to the entertainment?"
The Lost Singer gestured her hand in a general direction as she asked. Her mind was still wrapping around the images she saw in her world. Just this moment, a odd tune jumped into her mind as it sung gently in the back of her mind.
'The silver bells are ringing
With each passing cable car....'
"Yes, dear. I heard the songs are making the joy out of each weary souls. Not to say, rumors around the town said they have a good fortune teller among there too. You think I could see my future husband that wouldn't actually be landed dead this time?"
The Lost Singer didn't really catch all the words the young lady was saying, she only nodded a few times before she ran forward. In her eyes, she saw the little boy again as he wavered the Lost Singer to come along. She opened her mouth a few times struggling to come up with words as she desperately wanted to ask the little boy if he was real or was it her imagination. She ran after the little boy as she didn't realized she had ran right into the carnival crowd. The little boy ended up gripping onto her hand again. This time he asked another thing.
'Teacher, do you believe in fate?'
"I believe there is a time and place for everything. Is my time not ready for me to see you?"
The Lost Singer asked gently as the little boy snickered as the little boy turned into the man in leather jacket. The man in leather jacket reached out touching the Lost Singer's cheek gently as he held a sad smile upon his lips. The Lost Singer could see the weight of guilt hung upon those lovely brown eyes. She tried to reached back to touch the face as she asked again,
"Are you the one for the correct time and place?"
'Teacher, it is not our time yet.'
It was that spur moment the man in leather jacket disappeared leaving the Lost Singer spun around to try and find the man again. She spun herself around and around again, desperation was setting deeply upon her heart. Her hand clench upon her clothing as she tried to find the man again. There was still no trace of the man, nor was there even a tint trace of the man stepping upon the thick layer of snow. There was only a handful of musicians sitting near by a pit of fire while a old lady sat there gently talking to another lady in deep mysterious manner. The Lost Singer wondered if she was going crazy, than again she was always a bit crazy.
The Lost Singer strolled herself near the small gathering as she sat her own small sack down upon the ground. Her lute laid upon her lap as she gently sung with the melody the others were singing. It was among the gently cracking of the fire pit that lead her to see the little boy again. This time he was standing near the fire holding his hands out to warm himself up.
'Teacher, have you ever wonder why Gallifrey is never cold?'
"I never know~ for it is rarely cold outside~"
The Lost Singer gently sung her words as reply as she was now sure this little boy was just her illusion. She wondered if she will ever break this illusion and come to reality, than again she seem to be living in these illusions for a very long time in her life. It was as if she knew these people dearly to her heart.
"It is cold outside, would you come with me, my fair lady?"
This time.... The voice came in, the voice she longed and understood for a long while. The man in her dream. Who is he? She didn't move her head as she feared it was her own imagination again. The Lost Singer thought it was her mind acting up again as she felt a hand gently lay upon her shoulder. Her head slowly turned and gazed up to see the man in leather jacket smiling gently next to her. He slowly sat himself down next to the Lost Singer.
"It is cold outside, my fair lady, would you join me in front of the fireplace?"
The man in leather jacket asked again as he held out his hand toward the Lost Singer. She hesitated. Her hand shaken violently as she blindly clench upon her lute. She could feel her eyes slowly watering up as she lean her body forward. The man caught her in his arms. It felt like home.
Yes. Home.
"Country road~ take me home~ to the place~ I belong~"
The Lost Singer gently sung as the man in leather jacket held onto her as he rocked her back and forth gently. She closed her eyes and smiled. Home. It was something she never felt in her life, yet now... she felt like home.
